David directly oversees all business operations for WellFirst Health — Provided by SSM Health Plan — and leads the organization's senior management team. In addition, he collaborates with SSM Health's care delivery leaders to develop and execute key strategic, clinical and operational priorities.
Since joining the team in 2007, David advanced to chief growth officer where he oversaw strategy, business development, network development, product development (commercial and government programs), sales and retention functions. Prior to joining WellFirst Health — Provided by SSM Health Plan — David served multiple roles at Fortune 500 organizations specializing in leading large strategic programs and merger/acquisition integration. David earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Outside of the office you can find David spending time with his wife, son and daughter. He also enjoys soccer and fly fishing on the many streams of Wisconsin.
Loretta Lorenzen's responsibilities include oversight of health plan provider networks strategy, development and ongoing management.
Loretta and her team designed and implemented our current value-based pay-for-performance provider contracting model, which aligns provider incentives and health plan goals relating to increased provider quality outcomes, patient satisfaction and effectiveness of care.
Prior to joining SSM Health-Dean Health Plan in 2011, Loretta held health plan and payor operations and contracting leadership roles at a number of leading managed care and provider organizations including Aetna, CIGNA, Ascension/Wheaton Franciscan Services Inc., and Assurant.
Her educational background includes earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she majored in International Relations/Economics and German. Loretta also attended Marquette University, studying law and earning a Certificate in Management.
